Plastic Surgery – Dott. Lorenzo Calì Cassi

Dott. Lorenzo Calì Cassi aims, through his plastic and aesthetic surgery interventions, not only to achieve an inherently beautiful body or face but also to attain a more harmonious overall appearance. His philosophy is rooted in creating beauty that transcends the boundaries of time
and space, focusing on the harmony of proportions.

The work of Dr. Lorenzo Calì Cassi is based on the integration of technical and scientific knowledge in plastic and aesthetic surgery with a sense of taste and beauty. His approach to plastic surgery is divided into two branches: reconstructive plastic surgery and aesthetic plastic
surgery. The former aims to correct malformations or defects acquired due to trauma, accidents, or various pathologies. Aesthetic plastic surgery, on the other hand, primarily focuses on the pursuit of beauty.

The concept of beauty, as emphasized by Dr. Calì Cassi, is not static but
subject to continuous evolution and change over time. The task of aesthetic plastic surgery is not to stop time but rather to delay the signs of aging, contributing to a rejuvenated appearance.

Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

The aspiration to enhance one’s body and make it more attractive has been a constant throughout history. The task of aesthetic plastic surgery is precisely to correct and improve one’s appearance. In the classical world, the concept of beauty was even associated with health and virtue: “what is beautiful is also good” wrote Plato 2400 years ago!

True beauty, however, is believed to reside mainly in the harmony of proportions. In this sense, beauty is not an absolute value but changes over time and varies according to different locations and cultures. The value of our work lies in expressing the relationship between technical knowledge and the sense of beauty in this particular historical moment.
The opportunity to correct and refine one’s appearance has progressed alongside technological advancements. There is a strong desire today to slow down the aging process by turning back the hands of time. Aesthetic plastic surgery can provide significant assistance through innovative surgical techniques, eliminating almost all physical imperfections.

Thanks to rhinoplasty, we can achieve noses without humps, straighten septal deviations, and create a profile that harmonizes well with facial features. Breast augmentation allows for breasts of volume and proportionate shape, while breast reduction alleviates back pain and restores breasts to a proportional size. Mastopexy, with or without the insertion of implants, is suitable for patients with sagging breasts, as can occur after pregnancies. Blepharoplasty can eliminate sagging eyelids and under-eye bags, resulting in a visibly rejuvenated face.

Estethic Medicine

We have already discussed how aesthetic surgery can slow down the aging process. To address this need, particularly felt in our time and society, aesthetic medicine offers non-invasive, painless techniques and procedures that can be performed on an outpatient basis. It is suitable for patients who wish to improve their appearance without resorting to invasive interventions.

Aesthetic medicine allows for the correction of numerous facial and body imperfections without resorting to surgical interventions and at significantly lower costs. Non-invasive and painless aesthetic treatments are now the most effective and widely used strategy to slow down aging and remove a few years without suffering.

Forehead and eye wrinkles can be minimized thanks to the use of botulinum toxin; hyaluronic acid fillers improve and almost erase other facial wrinkles, restoring tone and volume to the facial skin.

Reconstructive Plastic Surgery

Even more critical than aesthetic function is the role that plastic surgery plays in the reconstructive field. Reconstructive plastic surgery applies where there is a need to repair and rebuild parts of the body altered in shape and function due to trauma, tumors, or congenital malformations.

One of the most passionate aspects of Dr. Lorenzo Calì Cassi’s professional activity is the reconstruction of the breast, whether intervening due to tumors or congenital malformations. This is a delicate area, considering its strong emotional significance for women; aesthetic needs are closely intertwined with reconstructive requirements. It should be noted that the primary goal is always to save the woman’s life, necessitating the implementation of practices provided by oncoplastic surgery in senology.

From the beginning of his career, Dr. Calì Cassi has also addressed congenital facial malformations, particularly cleft lip and palate and its outcomes. Particularly touching experiences have arisen in developing countries, where numerous cases of children and adults affected by cleft lip and palate have been documented.

Collaborating with dermatologists specialized in cutaneous oncology, Dr. Calì Cassi is involved in treating melanoma and sentinel lymph nodes, excising basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas, and subsequently reconstructing all body districts, especially the face. Thanks to modern regenerative surgery techniques and the use of lipofilling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), it is now possible to correct and improve conditions such as vulvar lichen and vulvodynia.

Wellness Medicine

With hyaluronic acid, non-surgical rhinoplasty can be performed, correcting nasal imperfections without surgical rhinoplasty. Suspension threads can be used on an outpatient basis to achieve a non-surgical facial lift. Chemical peels can remove skin blemishes due to aging or hormonal imbalances (melasma) and give tone and radiance to the skin. Laser treatment allows for facial rejuvenation with excellent results. With the right combination of outpatient procedures, comparable results to surgical facelifts can be achieved without enduring their costs and discomfort. Mesotherapy techniques can also provide a remedy for cellulite.

The use of platelet-rich plasma in aesthetic medicine is indicated for facial, neck, and décolleté biorevitalization and is effective in treatments against hair loss.
